I would assess the overall financial health of McDonald's fast food restaurant as healthy. The reasons are that that the operating income has increased from 3.5 billion in 31st Dec 2004 to 4.4 billion on 31st Dec 2006. Also the net income has increased in the same period between 2.27 billion to 3.54 billion. The financial position is sound because the Debt/ Equity ratio is 0.518 and the return on equity is 15.35%. The current profit margin is 10.51% and the operating margin is 24.35%. Each of the financial indicators shows that McDonald's is a financially sound company.
