    An easy answer is a simple "yes", although perhaps the real question becomes what these responsibilities are. Certainly there a no "legal" responsibilities, although there are animal cruelty laws, and various restrictions as to what we can and cannot do with / to them.

    What then is the ethical basis for environmental responsibility? Is there one at all? There is a biblical passage often quoted in this respect about "Man's dominion over the animals and the lands" ...
