this is kind of a tricky one as it revolves around the choices we make, as well as where we make them. That is what adversely affects the environment in one place may not in another. Also I suppose this question revolves around your own personal choices (as opposed to mine lets say) So lets look at some generalities:

Simple things can be positive - like energy use. Do you use CF (compact fluorescent) bulbs? CFs save lots of energy. Eat lowere onthe food chain. THe planet can support many more vegetarians as opposed to carnivores - there is a loss of around 90% of energy transferred acros trophic levels. That means if you eat beef - then you are really only 10% (grass fixing light) times 10% (cow fixing energy from grass) times 10% (you fixing the energy from the meat) ...
