Yes, the level of concern about quality is warranted. Currently many American-manufacturing companies became inefficient as compared to the Japanese peers. This is because of the lack of importance given by the American companies to the concept of quality. For example today Honda and Toyota are much more efficient and profitable than GM and Ford.
