Cross-Docking is where product is taken off one semi or box car and placed into another semi or box car for transport, however, you still need a warehouse from where the first trailer picks up the materials.
KISS stands for Keep it Simple with Supply Chain Management, a part of which does include warehousing.
VMI is getting the product from the supplier directly to the buyer and kept in the buyers store rather than in the supplier's warehouse but the buyer's store could still be considered warehousing on the part of the buyer.
