The DMAIC process has five phases these are define measure, analyze, improve, and control. These phases can be applied in a service organization.

In define phase means to define the problem. In the service industry it is necessary to ascertain feedback from the customer. The goals of the firm need to be prepared to satisfy the needs of the customer. The individuals that provide the service should be trained to listen to the voice of the customer and to satisfy that need.
