MBA/580, I have been ask my instructor to complete an assignment that involves three simulation, 1.Thinking strategically, 2.Developing Grand Strategies, 3. Creating a Strategic Road Map. He is requesting that we write a 350 word paper for each answering the following question

a. What are lessons learned relative to the importance and effectiveness of environmental scanning, strategy formulation and choice, and the formulation of action plans and goals?
b. What concepts and analytic tools were you able to use in the development of your strategic plan (i.e., how did you apply what you learned)?
c. What do your results reveal about the challenges facing strategic planners?

After answering these questions I am to write a Simulation Reflection Paper on what all three have in common.

CREATING A STRATEGIC ROAD MAP
This simulation allows us to set the strategy for the company and aim to be a global leader in its industry. In the environment of the construction industry, ConstructWell that is a well established firm in some American States has experience and capacity to bid for and build new projects that needs specialized equipment like large cranes and concrete mixing machines.
The lessons learned during the simulation are that action plans must contain a fortified product. This is essential for entering new markets. Moreover, we also learn that strategies of differentiation are important for the growth of the company. It is important that there be a grand strategy for steering the company to achievement of long term objectives.
Using a grand strategy for ConstructWell is productive because it sets goals and objective against which the performance can be compared and corrective actions can be taken. The strategic path of the company is defined by the vision of ConstructWell. Moreover, the market opportunities that are observed through environmental scanning allow ConstructWell to make a strategic choice effectively.
I had to use the concept of flexibility in formulating my strategies. I had to use the concepts of strategy formulation and the formation of action plans. I was required to examine and understand if my action plans were failing or my strategy.
