Let us first evaluate Porter's Generic strategies of cost leadership, differentiation and focus. In my opinion, I definately agree that this model suggested by Porter has become little dated in today's times. Even though the strategies related to cost leadership, differentiation and narrow/broad focus still applies to most of the companies, there are still gaps within these definition that account for other strategies.
