The problems facing Southwest Airlines are that it is compelled to behavior more like a mainstream airline rather than a low cost airline. One of the problems stems from frequent fare increases. The other problem is that the competitors of Southwest Airlines match the fare changes of Southwest Airlines. The second problem that Southwest Airlines is confronting is that its maintenance program has been criticized by inspector o the Federal Aviation Administration. The inspectors have noticed many problems with Southwest Airlines maintenance program and this can undermine the safety of Southwest Airlines aircraft. Third the performance of Southwest Airlines is declining. The on-time record is being tarnished, synchronizing flights is another problem that Southwest Airlines is failing to cope, logjam, delays and lost baggage. Fourth, its new programs are full of troubles. For instance, its rapid rewards program has been marred with glitches. Computer problems ...
