1a.) How do individual, team and organizational processes help or hinder the effectiveness of an organization?
Individual processes can help the effectiveness if their work is very specialized and the organization has limited resources available for that type of function. But, individuals are more likely to hinder the effectiveness of an organization if they are not part of a team or some other sub-set of the organization. Small departments or teams help the organization by providing a focus group or brainstorming function for new ideas/process, although they still need to be monitored to ensure that the work is directed towards helping the organization obtain its goals. Organizational are certainly designed to help the organization, though one quick example of how it can hinder itself would be not having the ability to focus on smaller details or individual issues that impact teams or even the organization.
