Starbucks is an American global coffee company whose first outlet opened in Washington in 1971 by three American partners, but later it was taken over by Howard Schultz in 1982.Starbucks consists of coffee stores in 61 countries including Western and Asian countries. The mission statement of the company is to provide inspiration and nurturing to human spirit. The company's objective is to become a globally popular and respected brand. The competitors of the company are quick-service restaurants and speciality coffee shops (Starbucks Fiscal Report, 2009).
The company serves with uncompromising principles and highest service quality under the leadership of Howard Schultz. In the opinion of Howard, until there is efficient business plan and organization function plan , it is difficult to achieve organizational objectives.
