// Human Resource Department (HRD) is viewed as an administrative function and strategic function by some. In this regard, the further text has shed light on the role of HRD as a change agent, which has influence on employee emotions. In this regard, four theories have been analyzed to suggest the most suitable theory for managing change.//

The HRD states that due to change in the way of functioning and operation of the organization, there is a change in the policies and plans of the HR department. These changes can relate to promotional policies, retirement policy, and training programs. The change can also relate to decentralization or centralization of HRD, where there can be modifications related to decreasing personnel, reducing programs or change in authority-reporting channels. It is further observed that it is the responsibility of HRD to convince employees and manage change as it is necessary for the constant organizational development (Sims, 2006).
