This article discusses about the potential of analyzing social network traffic as a means of predicting behavior through data mining. It specifically mentions that looking the person's call records in not anymore a necessity. Looking at the customers "within the context of their social network" will do the job.

Other use of data mining is to boost sales and productivity. The article relates that "companies have long mined their data to improve sales and productivity. But broadening data mining to include analysis of social networks makes new things possible."
