The topic of human motivation has been an important component in literature. There are several reasons why it has generated so much discussion. In the context of organizational behavior, motivation has been considered an important factor. In industrial relations, employee motivation is considered important. Employee motivation has also been considered vital for an organization's reputation, and the effect of motivation on learning has been widely researched (Porter, L. W., Bigley, G. A., & Steers, R. M. 2003).

Over a period of time the rate of employee turnover has been the subject of interest in literature. The relationship of employee motivation to the rate of employee turnover has been examined in research and literature. Similarly, in the context of organizations, a relationship between employee absenteeism and employee motivation has been established (Pinder, C. 1998). One of the most important subjects that have attracted attention is the need to improve employee productivity. Motivation has attracted researchers focused on employee productivity.
