Event Activations: Sacramento Kings

As part of the Sacramento Kings Diversity and Inclusion priority, the organization has developed the NBA's only social justice summit called Team Up for Change. The summit was created to unite, inspire and activate NBA and WNBA teams alongside community leaders and youth with a focus on the intersection between sports, race and the pursuit of more equitable communities. This social justice initiative was formed in partnership between the Sacramento Kings and the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018 following each team's devastating experience with systemic racism, the shooting and murder of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man and the wrongful conviction of Bucks player Sterling Brown.
As part of the summit, each team that participates commits to hold a week of action, designed to deepen connections within their communities. The week includes micro-events for youth that spur dynamic conversations and promote healing with an emphasis on mentorship, career exploration, leadership training, advancing pathways to substantial economic mobility for future generations.
Put together a PowerPoint presentation proposing ideas for two (2) event activations that would align with the Sacramento Kings week of action. Please make sure you include the following:
• Short description of each event.
• Incorporate one (1) virtual event and one (1) in-person event.
• Incorporate an opportunity for a player or coach to join at least one (1) of the events.
• Develop a list of internal departments that will need to support in the coordination of each event, be prepared to present how you will collaborate with each department to execute the events.
