Information technology

Complete Section 2 of 3. This week's assignment incorporates the transition from analysis to design. Prepare a paper that accomplishes the following:

? Describe the application architecture and process design.
? Apply the tools of systems analysis to describe the information system's architecture in terms of data, processes, interfaces and network.
? Draw the physical data flow diagram(s). Use Microsoft® Visio® to prepare examples of flow charts and data flow diagrams.
? Cite and discuss 3-4 references, in addition to the required readings, that are relevant to the assignment. Be sure to include citations and references using the University of Phoenix approved style guide format.

//Before writing about the tools of system analysis to describe the information system's architecture in terms of data, processes, interfaces and network, it is essential to have knowledge about application architecture. One should know about the key aspects used in application architecture //

Application architecture and design planning

Application architecture is the architecture of automated services that carry and execute such functional needs that have the interfaces through which structure apply the functional needs of the organization. For effective functioning, there should be only one form of application architecture and planning design, but in different organizations, different application architectures are employed. There are mainly three perspectives which are used in application architecture, these are as follow:

Conceptual views: This view of application architecture is utilized to describe the requirements of business and the business users' observation of the application to create a business model. Techniques of conceptual modeling, like activity diagrams, case analysis, business entity modeling and process design, assist to construct an explanation of the objectives of business and needs, and are free of execution know-how. This concept is followed by the organization in HR information system (Platt, 2002).

Logical views: The architects make the application models that involve logical views of the business model as they describe the way through which the business objectives and requirements are fulfilled. The application models characterize the logical view of the application architecture.

The architects here are pertained with the on the whole application structure. They determine on the function of process steps and data management. They also plan the interactions between different components of the model in context of the logical sequences and messages. Apart from this, they also decide what information as well as status should be detained by the model that is of pivotal importance for the HR information system to ensure smooth functioning.

Physical views: Each element of application model needs planning to the elements of real technologies. Through this way, the application models are realized as implementation models. Component of this ...
