Rationality in Decision Making and Mental Models

I am struggling with understanding the mental model. When I read the material it just confuses me and I am really having a hard time understanding it. Can you explain to me what the mental model is? For this module, pay attention to your own decision processes. On at least 5 occasions, identify a different mental model that you use on a regular basis. Discuss how this mental model affects your decision making. For each entry:

2. Why do you think you hold this mental model? Where did it come from?
3. Do you think using this mental model enhances your decision making - or detracts from it?
