While the traditional team puts its emphasis on the members' roles, the processes and structured meetings to ensure the flow of information to achieve effective decision making, the focus in this perspective is the importance of having more communication in the team and less on the quality of the knowledge being shared. Some companies still work on this strategy and in fact, many big organizations still rely on structured meetings and ensuring communication between staff more than anything else.
Another strategy is the way team networks do their roles in the team. The focus of their interactions is quality and production. There is no need for unimportant meetings that are not relevant to the goals. With a network lens on the teams, the team leaders identify where value and costs stand in the collaboration so that they can determine the various methods to improve connectivity in areas that can add economic value. With this strategy, team leaders evaluate interactions with network questions that can facilitate productivity through knowledge sharing.
