1. What are some of the potential benefits of B2B applications that use the Internet?

One of the potential benefits of business to business applications that use the Internet include the ability to communicate computer to computer between organizations, thus avoiding "manual shuffling of paperwork and little if any reentering of data" (Brown, DeHayes, Hoffer, Martin & Perkins, 2012, p. 257). Utilizing B2B applications processes can be streamlined and avoid human processing errors. In addition, orders can be directly input into suppliers system to better schedule manufacturing or procurement and delivery. Another benefit of B2B applications is the ability to transmit data at all hours over secure lines. This eliminates the need to have staff available for extended hours to process orders, input sales, or schedule deliveries. This also allows companies to operate more efficiently, reduce cycle times, costs of doing business and "improve coordination among business partners" (Brown, DeHayes, Hoffer, Martin & Perkins, 2012, p. 261).
