KM is predicated upon the ability of the organization to create, organize, apply, and most importantly transfer knowledge to employees who must utilize this knowledge to complete the objectives and goals for the organization. When attempting to measure whether the organization has effectively applied and transferred knowledge through management techniques that help to cultivate an organizational environment conducive to effective knowledge management, the objective that is to determine if the organization has reached KM maturity. KM maturity will ensure that the organization has reached the benchmarks that enables the organization to determine that the necessary ability to engage in the correct decision-making is held by all employees.
