The biggest obstacle to implementing change in an organization is the stiff resistance posed by the organizational members to avoid the change or in other words, express their resentment towards the proposed changes. It is a well known fact that people do not like changes, even if it is happening for their good. People are quite happy with their daily routine and any changes to their regular routine is being received with frustration, unhappiness and resistance. The primary cause of such resistance among people in the organization is doubts, fears and apprehensions about the new changes, such as the impact of change on job security, autonomy,etc. Resistance also occurs due to lack of education, skills, knowledge or information about the proposed changes, such as lack of skills to handle new technologies.
