HR Transformation at TSMC
Human Resource transformation refers to massive restructuring that took place in the last decade and which changed the role of HR from being administrators to people involved in high-level strategic decisions. TSMC transformed its HR functions to transform the company's vision to HR's vision which was to be World class HR for World class TSMC with World class People. The repositioning of HR changed HR's role from being administrator, gate-keeper, and controller to that of a strategic-partner, service provider, change agent, and employee champion. This repositioning was achieved through channels such as cultivating new mindset and building new capability and capacity.
The HR transformation process started in 1999 with the following objectives:
