The organization that I have selected is Illinois Tool Works. The industry focused on is industrial packaging. The globalization of industrial packaging is medium. The reason for this is that industrial packing namely steel and plastic strapping, paper and plastic protective products, metal jacketing and insulation products, and plastic stretch film are bulky products and transporting it can be costly. Further, the raw material required for the production of these products is easily available and the technology for the production of these products is widely available. There are no patents to protect the manufacturing process.
The global scope of the packaging industry has changed because of the increase in the use of semi-automatic and fully automatic packaging systems. The greater the degree of automation in the packaging machines the greater the need for high quality packaging consumables. for instance, the plastic strapping or steel strapping to be applied with manual tools can use any crude strapping.
