Overview on Request for proposal (RFP)

Request for Proposal (RFP) is defined as a document, which enables the organization to present invitation to suppliers, often with the help of bidding process for a particular product or service. It is believed that RFP plays an important role in making project management successful, as all the deliverable is clearly delineated. Through RFP, procurement decisions are being structured and all the risks associated are clearly identified in advance (Request for Proposal, 2012). RFP is considered to be a document, which describes the needs of the project in a specific area and proposed solutions are asked from suppliers that are related to pricing, timing and other necessary details. It is usually evaluated by group of directors who are expert in identifying the credentials of the organizations who are fighting with other companies for a particular project.
