1. Planning is a useless endeavor, because developments in e-business and e-commerce and in the political, economic, and societal environment are moving too quickly nowadays. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why?

No I do not agree with the idea that planning is useless based on the rapid pace of change in the political, economic, and societal areas. I do however, believe that the rapid pace of change in these areas requires a more concerted effort and focus on the planning process. To a large extent the rapid change of pace that is ongoing makes and forces and organization to maintain an enhanced awareness of what is taking place in the marketplace. This is a good thing. However, this requires an organization to more regularly review and update their strategic plans in order to set course corrections where necessary.
