New Belgium Brewing Company must address the following environmental issues. The packaging is a major cause of environmental impact. Even though the company reduces some amount of CO2 emissions, there is 6.6 pounds of emission for every 6-pack of micro-brew beer brand. Further, there is a loss of natural habitat to the extent of 2.5 square meters. New Belgium Brewing Company uses amber glass for packing beer. This is the worst packing material for the environment. It results in serious greenhouse effect. New Belgium Brewing Company should use steel cans as these are best for avoiding greenhouse effect. Alternately, New Belgium Brewing Company can use aluminum cans for packing of been and ensure that the aluminum cans are recycled. Even though New Belgium Brewing Company conserves water, there is an adverse effect on water supply. The harmful effect on water supply takes place because of fertilizers and pesticides applied during barley production.

New Belgium Brewing Company's strategic approach to addressing the environmental concerns have to an extent be able to address these concerns. New Belgium Brewing Company has used cutting edge environmental gadgets and high-tech industry improvements. Further, New Belgium Brewing Company has shown initiative in using energy saving alternatives to conducting its business and reducing the impact on the environment. New Belgium Brewing Company is also using waste reduction and recycling methods to lessen impact on environment. Moreover, New Belgium Brewing Company has used green building techniques.
The company has selected to focus on environmental issues so that the brand and the company is positioned as a socially responsible company.
