A. Go to a public corporation's website and read their statements on corporate social responsibility. What aspects of their ethics do you agree or disagree with? Why?

I went to Coca Cola's website (http://www.thecoca-colacompany.com/sustainabilityreport/index.html) and read their detailed information regarding social responsibility. Since Coca Cola utilizes water as the main ingredient in their manufacturing they have identified water as an important component "to the health and economic prosperity of the communities we serve". To this end they recycle wastewater and replenish or offset water used. This seems like a reasonable approach ethically, since it is a responsible action to take. Other tactics the company outlines include energy efficiency and climate protection, sustainable packaging, and contributing resources to the communities in which they operate. These are each honorable and ethically correct. As the company points out, their "business depends on communities that are healthy in every sense...we are helping communities thrive". This is the right action to take, since it is good for the company and good for the community. Taking care of customers is the right thing to do in the interest of long-term business.
