Social Learning Theory, developed by Albert Bandura, is one of the most influential theories concerning learning and development. This theory is based on some of the basic concepts of traditional learning theory but Bandura suggests that direct reinforcement does not account for all types of learning and that there is also a social element to learning. He believed that individuals are able to learn new information and behaviors by watching others, known as observational learning, which can help explain a wide variety of behaviors.
