Role of operations management: Operations management plays a vital role in managing major activities of the organization that are specially related with the production of goods and services (Role of the Operations Manager, 2009). Apart from this, operations management manages processes related with the operations, design, planning, controlling, operations strategy and improvement of performance. It also helps in the coordination of activities among the labor, capital, land, technology and equipments. Last but not the least operation management helps in maintaining better relations with the department of the end-users (Farrell, 1986).
