This management theory is "a formal system of organization based on clearly defined hierarchical levels and roles in order to maintain efficiency and effectiveness" (Vector Study, 2013, para 1). This theory seems to be focused on establishing a hierarchy, dividing an organization into those hierarchies and establishing very clear and strong lines of authority and control within the organization. According to the theorist who developed the idea, a bureaucratic organization "has clear rules and regulations which are strictly followed" (Akrani, 2011, para 1).
