Using change in negotiating styles can enhance the negotiations. Often the other party has researched and knows the other's normal style. Using a new style can give one the advantage because the strategy formulated by the other will be at least in part, flawed. It will also force more listening as one gets used to the new style, and that works on both sides of the negotiation.
