A list of environmentally sustainable resources in China.
This material utilizes various secondary references specifically referring to environmental resources found in China. These resources are waste water treatment plants, forest cover, wind power, human resources and surface and ground water resources.
1. Waste Water Treatment Plant
China has strengthened its efforts to improve the ecological environment. It built a large number of waste water treatment plants and waste treatment facilities in cities and some rural areas. In addition to the urban waste water treatment capacity of 11.56 million tons per day that was built in 2006, China put in place new facilities in the first three quarters of 2007 that could handle 9 million tons of waste water per day. Thus, nearly 60% of waste water in urban areas is being treated. The country has accelerated the installation of desulphurization facilities in thermal power stations, with the newly installed capacity totaling about 200 million kilowatts in 2006 and 2007.
