    I have been involved in several negotiations. However, one specifically stands out. Said negotiation was for a salary increase and pay for maternity leave. My employer did not want to provide me with a full paid maternity leave. His role in the communication process was very minimal. He did not communicate effectively what his true intentions were. Furthermore, his personality in the beginning stages of the communication process was stern and ineffective. The personality that he provided in the initial negotiation process did detract from the negotiation somewhat. However, I had to put that personality aside in order to effectively communicate my perspective of the situation.
