You are employed at a large global high-tech company that has offices worldwide in such places as Tokyo, London, Bombay, Toronto, Mexico City, Chicago, and Seattle to name a few. Although the sales has been reasonable these past few months even with the global economic crises, an internal crises exists related to employee morale being at an all-time low. There are many different beliefs on what is right and what is wrong across the board, especially when it comes to the cultural and communication differences and the technological equipment challenges. There are also concerns regarding the selfishness of the employees; where the employees do not enjoy working as a team. You supervisor has tasked you as the as the VP of the Service Department to prepare a research paper that will communicate information and solutions as well as provide a foundation of knowledge so that you can work with your peers and employees to solve these problems. At a minimum, your research paper must:
-Analyze and evaluate the different leadership theories and behavior approaches, including the Tuckman four stages of group development model.
-Evaluate the importance of the internal environmental factors that include the cultural, language, political, and technological differences.
-Apply the necessary steps to overcome the identified challenges with the different sources of power that must be taken into account.

Solutions for cultural and communication differences and technological challenges
There are several leadership theories as present by literature such as the behavioral theories, trait theories, contingency theory, transactional theory, great man theory, situational theory, and transformational theory. The above mentioned theories take an individual's perspective concerning leadership traits that an individual may posses (Bolden, Gosling, Marturano, & Dennison, 2006). Leaders are known to control an employee's outcome, as well as determining the way an organization will behave while setting its tone and offering employee guidance.
In relation to the military figures, the great man theories form a comparison when it comes to the leadership traits that an individual may posses. Individuals within the military are associated to some characteristics such as being authoritative which is believed to be genetic or inherited from a father to his son. Great man theories present leadership positions as space set aside for the males and not the females unless if an opportunity arose that forced a female to be a leader (Great man theory n.d).
Behavioral leadership theory associated leadership with some traits which were uniquely possessed by leaders. Different behavior that individual posses contributed in determining the leadership styles employed by a leader which played part in the participative decision making acts which encouraged team development and goals organization (understanding leadership n.d).
Trait theories come about when a leader inherits a leadership trait from their superiors which makes it somehow similar to the great man theories. The traits in context are associated to how the leader behaves while in leadership. Leadership styles come along with situational variables which gives rise to situational theories. These theories have their basis on the situational variables which the leader employs while in leadership so as to make appropriate leadership decisions.
