Lands' end website navigation
In this website we can see a dynamically generated navigation scheme which is best for online stores. The navigation system is based on simplicity and usability without complex drop-down menus or graphics which allows easy access to major parts of the site. There is also a contextual navigation that links related pages together and is embodied as links within lists. The navigation bar gives users gives users immediate knowledge of the depth of the website by showing product categories for men, women, home and travel apparel etc... However it would be easier for users if the website would use consistent navigation texts and icons in the same location on each web page so that they could easily learn how the site operates.
GAP website navigation (2nd selected website)
This is a user friendly website both from an internal and external perspective. For example texts and images can be updated instantly. This is great for viewing the latest news which is much more appealing for visitors. Gap's online store looks like it is built to reflect the offline catalogue in both color coding and section listings and the website features a fully searchable database of all products.
Banana republic's website navigation (3rd selected website)
The solution discusses E businesses versus physical shopping. The supply chain for each are discussed.
