Branding is important because it gives a clear message to consumers about the quality of the product or company (www.wealthjournals.com). Branding also encourages loyalty to products and it influences consumers to seek after the product or company. Branding is a form of marketing which allows consumers to recognize the product or company among many different and similar products. Branding can also provide protection from someone stealing your name or product, along with registering the trademark of the product or company (www.wealthjournals.com).

Elevator pitch is the ability of the owner and employees to speak about the business in a way to excite other people (www.businessweek.com). It is a clear and descriptive message about the business. It is called elevator pitch because the pitch should take no longer than the time it takes to ride an elevator (www.businessweek.com). The elevator pitch is important because it is the way to market a business, service or product for reaching new buyers or consumers with an appealing message (www.businessweek.com). Elevator pitches should change with the growth and changes of a business. The elevator pitch should answer six question and they are: what is your product or service, who is your market, what is your revenue model, who is behind company, who you is competition and what is your competitive edge? (www.businessknowhow.com). The elevator pitch should contain an attention getting statement, about 150 to 200 words, passion for the business and a request at the end (www.businessknowhow.com).

An example of an elevator pitch is "Trey Research helps restaurants improve customer satisfaction so that people keep coming back. Nobody else does it the way Trey Research do it with combined telephone and internet contacts"( www.office.microsoft.com). The outcome of the elevator pitch was to give potential new restaurants their telephone and internet contacts in order to become customers.
