It is clear that there are many arguments in the health and nutrition world that consuming raw milk, which is milk that has not been pasteurized is not safe and unhealthy. What is important is to understand why consuming raw milk has its benefits. However, before that can be done one should consider the history of raw milk. Before there was pasteurization, there was good old raw milk straight from the cow. In the early part of the 20th century, clean raw milk from grass fed cows was actually used for medicinal purposes (Hartley, 2008). It was used to treat and cure some diseases. Why? Because raw milk which has not had heat applied to it has all of the nutrtients that the body needs which include proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and beneficial bacteria. ...
