Gods and Goddesses have most elements or characteristics ascribed to humans i.e. love, anger, fighting, writing poetry and music, etc., but alongside they also have supernatural powers and are worshipped by the humans. They often function as heroes, which are like other human beings but have either done something which makes them excel over others or have a gift that others do not possess (http://hubpages.com/hub/Mythical-Gods-And-Creatures). People look to Gods and Goddesses to explain aspects of the world, such as thunder is ascribed to the God's who are either fighting or very angry Gods.
