Socialization is the process by which individuals gain socio-cultural expertise and proficiency. We normally associate socialization in the very beginning of social experience - at childhood. This is very true - socialization of every individual begins at home with their families. Their parents (if not parents, caretakers) are the source of their first experience of all elements social. Consider language, behavior, moral and religious beliefs - things related to doing, thinking and behaving that children must first learn from parents and elders in order for them to be able to 'live' and look after themselves at limited capacity.
