Introduction

Should juveniles be tried in criminal court? Juvenile court focuses on rehabilitation of youth offenders for reintroduction to society while criminal court focuses on punishment and deterrence. I believe that the US justice system has evolved over a legacy of criminal justice genealogical history so that lessons from the past have overtime accumulated into the present system we have today. And today's de facto legal system allows for juveniles to be tried in an adult criminal court for various reasons and I respect that position.
