When you are addressing group therapy issues, the best resource is Yalom. I am assuming you already have his The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy. If you do not, I highly recommend that you get it. While I will not write this essay for you, I can provide you with some guidance.
When you are thinking about stages of change and stages of recovery within the group context, you must always remember to think within the framework of individual within the group. Depending on which type of group you are talking about (open versus closed group) you may have individuals at different stages of recovery and different stages of change. If you are focusing on a particular group member, think about where he or she is in the process.
