First off, as you offer ways to reduce the impact of media violence as a potential cause of aggression, it seems an individual-leveled action is to get back to the basics, such as simply ensuring that the old-fashioned parental controls (meaning parents more actively watching and monitoring what their kids and teens are watching) should be reaffirmed. When I was younger through my early teens, my brother and I were not allowed to watch movies that were rated R or PG-13. As a result, we were shielded from violence in the media in this manner and aggression was curbed. Family modeling was practiced and embraced.
