Personality disorders are becoming more and more common in individuals today There are three different classes of personality disorders: Class A, Class B, and Class C. Children can be diagnosed with personality disorders as well as adults. Those individuals that suffer from personality disorders can live relatively normal productive lives if the symptoms of the disorder are controlled through medication, counseling, and by the use of coping skills. The first Class of Personality Disorder is called the Class A and consists of personality disorders that are characterized by peculiar thinking or behaviors. The most common disorder in this class is paranoid personality type. The symptoms of paranoid personality disorder can include distrust and suspicion of other people; believing that other people are trying to hurt them; being hostile or physically abusive towards others; and also being emotionally detached from friends and family members. Treatment for this disorder is possible through counseling with psychologist, anti-anxiety medication such as Prozac and the use of coping skills like relaxation.

The next class of personality disorders is called the Class B and may be characterized as dramatic, overly emotional thinking or behavior.
