Parenting styles are known as psychological constructs, established ways or strategies that parents utilise to bring up their children. Consequently, there are four recognized constructs and they are as follows:

1. Authoritative - This strategy is about moderate parents being in control where parents are assertive, balancing the needs and demands of the child to the importance of gradually raising up the bar with expectations of maturity over the stages of development. Parents encourage the kids to be independent but place a control/limit to their actions based on reason and logic.
