There is several theories out there on the impact family values has on the adolescent's sexual behavior. Previous research has explored a number of variables associated with adolescent sexual behavior including family variables and religiosity (Wilson, 2007). In the study the examined the impact a family's religious views and the amount of sexual activity of teenagers. Interviews conducted of both the parents and the 12-19 year old daughter; found that the more religious activities and family discussions about sex contributed to decreases in adolescent sexual behaviors. Initial sexual intercourse present alarming findings and indicate that adolescent sexual behavior requires in-depth examination to identify variables that can curb the negative results of this behavior (Wilson, 2007).
