Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that affects a variety of psychological and physiological functions. It is a neurotransmitter released in the brain.
It also affects digestive system. It is believed to have its effects on cardiovascular system, muscles, endocrine system, regulating mood, sexual desire and functions, appetite, sleep, memory and learning, temperature regulation, and human social behavior.
