The Human Memory Model

The human memory understanding is considered to be controversial however, scientists consider the human memory to be like a set of stores which is have 'places' of storing information with a set of processes which act as these stores. A simple model of the human brain is made up of 3 different stores such as the sensory information store, short term store and the long term store (Human memory, n.d).. Other than the store, 3 processes are also involved such as encoding which is similar to putting information in a store, maintenance which is similar to keeping the information in the store 'alive', and retrieval which is similar to finding the information which had been encoded (Henke, 2010).
