The community is located in the center of Lynchburg Virginia which is considered central Virginia. The area contains 90% Caucasians 5% African Americans and 5% of other races. The total population is 100,202 people in a rural community. The unemployment rate is 15% due to the closing of a local factory for making police supplies. The community is considered lower middle class and the average income is $29,000 per family household. There is a population of people that require mental health services and a community agency will be build on Lumber street in the community.
