The Ministry Action Plan

What is a ministry action plan (MAP)? It is something that is essential in the running of a church or a ministry without which goals will not be clarified, resources not allocated where they should and the people that are important in the running of the church will not be put in roles where they are needed. The purpose of a MAP, according to Harmony Missionary Baptist Church of Lakeland, Florida (Harmony MB Church 2017) is "to help the ministries of our church plan activities prior to committing actual resources (time, talent, treasure) to them... We also want to make sure that we are doing smart ministry. In other words, if we are going to spend time, talent, energy, and money on a ministry event/activity/program, we expect that it will be beneficial to helping us fulfill our mission as a Church." The MAP thus of Harmony MB Church is something that plans, coordinates, allocates, administers and manages the activities and resources of the church for a period of time in order to achieve its aims. Any MAP made for this purpose for any ministry can be expected to do the same.

The MAP is not just for a macro impact (a general plan for the year, for example). In principle, a MAP can be made for any event or activity the ministry engages in from church retreats to Streaming of Services in platforms like YouTube and Facebook for those who attend remotely, or for Bible studies events, as well as conference, celebrations and other significant occasions. The church I am creating the MAP for is the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia, a satellite church of Gwinnett Hall Baptist Bible College (Gwinett Hall BC 2022) of Lawrenceville, Georgia that provides degree and training programs for church related vocations - pastors, youth workers, missionaries and lay people.
