A. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

For example, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) addresses a child's thoughts and feelings, especially how the child's thought impact how they feel, which impacts behavior. It specifically helps to improve a child's moods, anxiety and behavior through the examination of confused or distorted patterns of thinking. The CBT therapist acts a teacher, and teaches the child that thoughts cause their feelings and moods which can influence how they act (behavior). During CBT, a child will learn to identify harmful thought patterns with the help of the therapist.
